Wear your ADHESIVE on the OUTSIDE!

Have I told you lately how much I LOVE SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L? Well you probably already know, but I never get tired of saying it! I was asked by Kerri their marketing director to help out with some projects to decorate their new offices with, here are a few that I did for this second round of projects.

For this project I used the back side of a piece of art canvas (you can find this in an art supply store around their paper tablets) because it was not Gesso-ed and sprayed Glimmer Mist in Dazzling Diamonds. This is a new color of Glimmer Mist that has a clear base and a vintagey blue opalescent glimmer to it (the glimmer reminds me of a string of pearls). This gave the raw canvas a beautiful opalescent glimmer. I then stitched the border with black thread (this was so tough because I actually had to be neat about it!). The Butterflies were die-cutted out with a Martha Stewart punch that I got at Micheal's (Monarch is the name of the punch). I then used re-positionable adhesive by SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L and adhered the butterflies down to white paper as I used the butterflies as a guide to cut out the white paper. After I was done, I removed the white papers and misted each one a different color using Glimmer Mist. I then created my title with Tattered Angels Framed Font Alphabets and Cinder Glimmer Mist. I used SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES 3D Foam Squares in black (I used the little ones and cut them in half) to tuck underneath the wings of the butterflies to make them appear to be in flight. This was such a simple project and I thought it would be perfect for a wall hanging, just add it to a piece of cardboard for stability and there you go!

This project was oooohhhh so much fun! For this project I used The Wizard by Spellbinders to cut out these great flowers. Before I cut them out, I used an Adhesive Sheet by SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L and added it to a 12x12 piece of white paper. I then cut the paper in half and ran it through the Wizard using a variety of different sizes of blooms. After I had all of my shapes, I then removed the protective covering off of my blooms and covered them in glitters of all sorts of colors! I created some non adhesived shapes as well and misted those so that I would have a Glimmer along side the glittered sparkle. From here I took my BFF's the 3D Foam Squares and some Craft and Photo Tape (OK so I lied, I think the craft and photo tape is really my BFF!) and adhered my blooms to a piece of 12x12 black cardstock for a nice PUNCH of color.

I just love getting crafty with my adhesive and showing how you can wear your adhesive on the outside and not just hide it behind stuff!

Bad Girls project- Sweet Profile

This layout was created with the Bad Girls April Kit. A quick tip to maximize your lettering is to use it as a mask and paint over to create the illusion of the title, adding glimmer mist also helps you customize the color to your liking, and if you are an over acheiver (which my hands are still mad at me for) you can hand stich around your title to get the totally outlined effect. The big butterfly is a cut out of a hambly and used as a mask.

The Good... The Bad.... And the STICKY!

So let me break it down like this!

THE GOOD...

Well some of you may have heard it on my Facebook post, but yesterday my sweet son ate grilled chicken for the first time, it may not sound like much, but to a mom of a 5 year old boy who only eats chicken nuggets, fruit and PB&J's this was VICTORY! He has issues with harder textures so this was a definate win for our family!



SO now the Bad.... and oh is it BAD!

Here is one of my Layouts for Bad Girls, I have added a slide show of my DT work at the bottom of my blog, but by posting these individual posts, it helps for those who want to be able to see detailed pics. Here is the layout called Curious Boy. I hand stitched the rain drops, added paint, stickles and of course cardboard, and VOILA... one of my most favorite layouts to date! I based this page off of a sketch that Kara did over at Bad Girls. Check them out if yo uget a chance, this months kit is Totally spring and Sooooo much fun!

You may have noticed that I added another design team to my list, I was asked a few months back by Kerri over at SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L if I would be interested in joining their DT, and well since I already use their goodies anyways, I said OF COURSE! I am seriously pinching myself with the wonderful companies I am so very blessed to work with!

SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L is my absolute favoritist (and yes this IS a word, I have been using it since the second grade!) in the whole wide world!!! They rock with the versatility of adhesives that they offer. Take a look at their site when you get a chance, they also have an online shop now that you can purchase from and all sales are directed to retailers, so the sales are not taken away from the retail market. My goal with SA is to show how you can use their adhesives as art mediums rather than just sticky stuff you use to scrap with. I am on a quest to show EVERYONE how to wear their adhesive on the outside! Believe me, you'll love it!

So if you didn't guess... that was the sticky... although it could qualify as the good too!

Bad Girl Kits are HERE!

I just wanted to share with you that the Bad Girl kits for April are now available, I am loving the main kit, butterfly kisses and especially Twinkle Twinkle, Check them out and see for yourself! Tattered Angels and Crafty Secrets March Mix up week 3

Well today is the day! My turn for the March Mix up is here, today I want to share with you a fun and eclectic canvas that I concocted using the Crafty secrets products with Tattered Angels products. Fleur De Lis Glimmer Glass with Glimmer Mist on it, nice and glimmery!

And thanks to Blogger, the full canvas pic is on the bottom, oh well! Here is the full canvas shot, I wanted to try and make sure to post it on time, so the pic may not be all that wonderful, but the upclose pics show the fun detail.


SO here is the low down on this canvas.


I took a blank 10x10 canvas and layered paint and Old Lace Glimmer mist over the entire canvas. I the use the brand new Tattered Angels Screen Prints Stamps (trees) to create my tree bed. I used tons of the Crafty Secrets images from their nature journal pad as well as their journal blocks to create a layered bed for my birdies to pirch on. The images were Glimmer Misted with Mustard Seed, Midnught Blue and Turqouise Blue, Coffee Shop, Latte and Auburn. I sprayed the blue bird with Copper and immediately moved it and applied UTEE on it. This created an enamel coat over the image that enhanced the shine of the copper Glimmer Mist. I love the little Fleur De Lis that is peeking out of the bottom, this is a great representation of how well Glimmer Mist works on various surfaces, even thought he Glimmer Glass is a slick surface, when you apply a thin light mist over the glass and allow it to air dry, it creates and even coat of Glimmer Mist over your embellishment that has a wonderful glimmery shine. The chips I misted with Olive Vine and I dried the and then rubbed them with the excess mist that was on my mat. I also ran a little ink across the top to intensify the ebossing on them. The title I used crackle accents over wheatfields to give it a nice sparkle with a broken glass look.

I've been a bad. bad. girl...

I never knew that being BAD could feel oh, so Good!

The official word is out, I am so excited to be joining the ranks of the Bad Girl Designers! I am sooooo excited to get down and dirty with these kits. Bad Girls Kits are totally my thing and I can not wait until I get my currently misted (occupational hazard) hands on my first kit. The girls on the team are definately Artiste! I hope you can join us on their MB as I am sure that you will find their site just as inspirational as I do!

The silver lining...

Although life has not been exactly how I would like it to be right now, we are getting by. I am just beside myself with guilt as I have to watch my husband absorb my duties on top of his own around here. We are going to make it, although dreams of selling our house may be on a stand still, we'll get along and be victorious over this situation. I am bound and determined to find a blessing in all of this, even if it is just recieving the much needed rest.

First off, THANK YOU!!! to all of you who have emailed, called, posted well wishes. I am doing alot better, I still need to realize that I am not super mom ( I know SHOCK, I am human!) and take it easy, but it is my lesson to learn. Right now I am focusing on my kids, making sure that their needs are met. It is a total blessing that I don't have a whole lot of classes scheduled. The few that I have are on the weekends, which makes it so much easier So all in all, life may be a little tough, but it is still GOOD!

With all that said, I do have to share the silver lining to my storm cloud, I have just been asked to join the Tattered Angels design team. I cannot express enough just how EXCITED I AM!!! It truly is AWESOME! So although I haven't been able to post part two of my Mistology 101, please know that when I can get up and at it, I WILL! I miss scrapbooking, I never thought I would say that since I do scrap often, but being without my supplies for the last few weeks has been hard, I can't wait to get my hands dirty again.

So here is to the silver lining to my stormy days, and I hope and pray that all of your days are sunny, no rain clouds, but still silver lined!
