Tattered Angels and Cosmo Relay... SON-Rise

This week is my turn for the Blog relay. This month we have brought you some fun creative ideas for uses of Cosmo Cricket products with Tattered Angels products. First off Tattered Angels CHA booth was right next to Cosmo's booth this last winter. And since I was at the demo table, I got to stare straight into Cosmo's booth and fall in love with all of their fun goodies. Some of you may remember back in January I posted about their new Snorkel line, well it is just so adorable, and I absolutely fell in love with it! So for this relay I chose to use Snorkel for my project.

SON Rise

Although most of the pic is covered up, this pic is of my second son on the beach. Seeing him splashing in the waves was such a blessing. We normally don't get down the the beach all that often, but on this particular visit, our son who is normally adverse to uncontrolled environments decided to give the ocean a try. It just melted my heart to see yet one more prayer answered in our little guy. So this page titled SON rise, captures just that. My SON rising above adverse situations, I know it sounds a bit predictable and cheesy (most of my topics are about such things) but these are my day to day joys. Seeing him grow into a health cabable young man is all I could ever pray for. So with each page I record his one step closer.
Ok now for the details: I use the Cosmo paper to create the waves on the bottom of the page, and as well to create the sun. This sun was inspired by a commercial last year. I believe it was a car commercial, and as the car drove through one of the LA tunnels (something that reminded me of my childhood) the tunnel turned into this gorgeous, whimsical, multi layered sun. It reminds me of the turn of the century victorian art that you would see layered in silent movies or puppet shows. I have always been a fan of layers so it is no wonder how this image stayed with me all year long. The background was created using some Frosty Memories Glimmer Glass as a screen to create the white clouds. I misted a light mist of Turquoise Blue over the top. To add to the whimsy, I added the large flourish of Regal Glimmer Chips in the same color. I also added some bolt lace and some Cosmo trim that I sprayed with Sea Glass to match the project. You can also see in the rays of the Sun that I used the Vinage Ice Glimmer Screen as a stamp with Dreamsicle Glimmer Mist. Some additional colors of Glimmer Mist that I used were, Old Lace, and Sand to create the sea bed. For the title I used the Regal Framed Font Alphabet with Meadow Green Glimmer Mist and Peach Delight Glimmer Mist.
Thanks for peeking, I am currently in New York, so I will try and post some pictures of my Tattered Travels when I get back (I have a few trips to post still!) Enjoy your Memorial Day and snuggle up with those you love. Especially on a day like today, we need to treasure eachother and relationships.

Tattered Angels and Crafty Secrets March Mix up week 3

Upclose pic of a Crafty Secrets Bird, sprayed with copper Glimmer Mist that I used with embossing powder (the Glimmer mist works to adhere the Embossing powder). The copper Glimmer shines nicely with the UTEE on it!

Upclose picture of the flowers and kiddie with birds, All Crafty Secrets.

And thanks to Blogger, the full canvas pic is on the bottom, oh well! Here is the full canvas shot, I wanted to try and make sure to post it on time, so the pic may not be all that wonderful, but the upclose pics show the fun detail.

SO here is the low down on this canvas.

I took a blank 10x10 canvas and layered paint and Old Lace Glimmer mist over the entire canvas. I the use the brand new Tattered Angels Screen Prints Stamps (trees) to create my tree bed. I used tons of the Crafty Secrets images from their nature journal pad as well as their journal blocks to create a layered bed for my birdies to pirch on. The images were Glimmer Misted with Mustard Seed, Midnught Blue and Turqouise Blue, Coffee Shop, Latte and Auburn. I sprayed the blue bird with Copper and immediately moved it and applied UTEE on it. This created an enamel coat over the image that enhanced the shine of the copper Glimmer Mist. I love the little Fleur De Lis that is peeking out of the bottom, this is a great representation of how well Glimmer Mist works on various surfaces, even thought he Glimmer Glass is a slick surface, when you apply a thin light mist over the glass and allow it to air dry, it creates and even coat of Glimmer Mist over your embellishment that has a wonderful glimmery shine. The chips I misted with Olive Vine and I dried the and then rubbed them with the excess mist that was on my mat. I also ran a little ink across the top to intensify the ebossing on them. The title I used crackle accents over wheatfields to give it a nice sparkle with a broken glass look.

I Hope you enjoy this canvas as much as I do, thanks for peeking!

Here is a list of all the girls participating in this weeks mix up, take a peek and let me know what you think!

****ADD**** Just so you ladies know... the wonderful technique of using the glimmer mist to emboss with was introduced to me by the owner of Tattered Angels, Wendy Senger, so I can't take credit for it! Thanks for your positive words!
Thanks!
