Welcome to October!

So past month was a bit of a crazy ride for our family. From beginning to end, let's just say I am glad it is done.

This past month on the blog I hosted a random giveaway of 5 (1 oz.) bottles of glimmer mist to all subscribers.

Well last night was the final night and I am so excited to hear back from the winners. When I receive their names, I will post them here. It was so fun doing this that I am thinking that I am going to have to do more things just like this!

So this months RAK is...

Support your LSS (local scrap store)
This is some is something that weighs on my heart. I found my love for scrapping through the aisles of my local scrap store. Between there and the CKMB I was constantly finding new things to incorporate on my pages. With so many stores going out of business, it breaks my heart to think that the people that took a chance in living their dream are being dramatically affected by the economy crisis. We have had a few stores close in our area, including the store that I was first given an opportunity to design for. With all the over head, school starting, and the holidays looming, I bet most of you haven't even considered scrapping and I am sure that includes anything else nice for yourself. So since this does directly effect each of us, I figured what a better way to give the scrap economy a little boost?
Here are the guidelines for entry:
1) Subscribe to my blog. Totally simple, and non intrusive. I just send updates about my blog, classes, giveaways from me and the companies I teach for, tips and techniques and just a whole lot of FUN! I won't fill your email box with junk mail and you can email me at any time if you would rather not participate. primadonnaliz@yahoo.com
2) get yourself down to your LSS and escape from the world for a bit.
3) make a purchase of ANY amount. Your LSS will be grateful for ANY purchase, guaranteed!!!
4) email me a pic of your receipt dated 10/1/08- 10/31/08
5) just have fun!!!
The idea of this of course is to give a little boost to the scrap economy, but more than this to really encourage all scrappers to remember themselves in this busy season in life. Whether you scrap everyday or haven't in years, keeping a good balanced recreation is essential to life. YOU need to give yourself a break from the hustle and bustle before it is to late and and stress creeps in. I know I have been there and am sure I am not the only one. So what better way then to get away to a scrap store. I had a group of friends that I went to coffee and a scrap store with every Wednesday, and it was a great boost to my week.
So grab a friend (or not) a cup of coffee and take a good walk through your LSS. Take a break from life, and just reconnect with your inner scrap artist. If you take a pic, please email it to me I would love to see it!
This RAK will end October 31st and I will post a winner on November 1st. I will randomly pick a winner from the list of subscribers who email me pics. This is open to everyone, including our international buddies so tell your friends!!!
If you have any questions feel free to email me!
thanks and happy shopping, browsing, and crafting!!!
XOXO

MORE pics from CHA

New clear paintables

New viola! and introducing felt gates

New Clear stamps

New glittered transparencies

Scrapping in the hotel room

Sorry it has taken me a bit of time to get back on track, but here are some more pics of product from the booth. The felt gates are brand new and are reinforced with a bit of acrylic for ease of application, they also fit right onto the new Build a Book gated album. The new viola is soooo cute, there are even some new christmas designs. The stamps are amazing as well, there are individual stamps alpha's and a variety of sets. Tons to choose from!!! The new transparencies are glittered and way to cute, there also is a collage sheet tranparency that is nicely vintaged. And the new clear paintables are totally adorable!

And of course I had to add a pic of the group scrapping! That is all we did, all night long!

Hope this satisfies your CHA appetite for now!

Pics from CHA, New Prima

Here are the first pics of CHA, Almost all of my pics are of the Prima booth, but I asure you there was alot there, so you will get an eye full! These are the new "Build A Swirl" Stamps and Crystals. A great concept that adds depth and texture to your pages. First you stamp, and then you lay the crystals that fit perfectly, right on top. Just one of the new systems Prima has come up with to give your product more uses, and added effect. They also have coordinating stamps with chipboard alphas as seen in the example.

Enjoy your Monday! We are off to the Zoo!

Blessings, a few boos and some funky felts

This week has been chaos! From driving to and fro to pick up four different kids, to prepping for my workshop to AWANA's and the muggy air, PHEW! FRIDAY IS HERE!!!!

I have to say... yesterday was my workshop for our church and that was the highlight of my week, maybe even month! I am not always able to minister to the masses, with having three kids and a house to maintain most of my ministry is at home and revolves around wiping noses and making dinner. Day to day I do get individual opportunities to bless and be blessed but as far as being able to serving in a ministry @ our church, there just hasn't been an opportunity for us that we felt didn't take away from our family. Well this was perfect! I prepped kits for about 30 and I think we used 20 of them. The ladies were AWESOME too! they laughed and enjoyed themselves just as much as I did. Almost half of the ladies had never scrapbooked before, which filled my heart with joy to know that I was able to bless them with their first scrap experience. The most important message that I hope I delivered to them was just to take some time out to refresh themselves, balance home and a recreation but to know that they are worth it because their heavenly father treasures them and wants them to enjoy and maintain a healthy balanced life. I also shared with them on how I started to scrap which was through friends from our church, how they had taken me out during my time of need (while I struggled with Post Partum Depression).

Scrapbooking for me is a release I can escape to to clear my mind and renew my thoughts. It is what God has blessed me with and I hope to never take this treasure for granted. I remember when we were dealing with finding out about Sawyers diagnosis of being on the autism spectrum I scrapped just to clear my mind and deal with my emotions. I still remember working on some altered blocks right before we had to leave for his MRI and all I could do was sit there and sand the edges, over and over again. It was as if I was at my breaking point on the verge of falling apart but God held me in this moment to keep me from letting my thoughts wonder.

So although I was called to be a blessing yesterday, I was doubly blessed in return. It was awesome and I hope to get the opportunity to do so again!

next on my list is Boos~

Yup, boos. Last night we went out on a hunt. We drove around, finding unsuspecting (well, not really since we are known for booing) friends and family to Boo. Since we hadn't been booed this year we decided to start it on our own. It is a fun tradition that we do with the kids, getting treats together for friends and leaving them on their door step with instructions on how to boo their friends. We then ring their door bell and run like CRAZY! So if last night you had this pleasant package on your doorstep then yup, it was us!

Lastly, some new funky finds~

Felt. I Love it! and these new felts just caught my eye @ Jo's (Joanns for he non MB people). Embossed felt and glittery felt. only 60 cents a sheet well worth it for me! I can't wait to use these for November!

It feels nice to be back and blogging again, thanks ladies for all the well wishes and prayers, you all are truly special! THANK YOU!!!!
