Friday.... The 13th...

scary kids courtesy of James and I....
Photo courtesy of Candra George of My Creative Reality

Ok... so things have been a little upside down these days... It seems that whenever our family goes through life changes... it is always a TON of change as opposed to something small and simple... Well we are working towards simplifying that. Part of that is spending a little more time here blogging and recording our events :)

So since today is Friday the 13th... I want to hear from YOU! We have been on vacation, I have come back from brave girls camp, we both (me and James) have recently returned from CHA and on top of all of this we are moving... so being that it is Friday the 13th... I want to hear from YOU what you want me to blog about next. whether it be Brave Girls Camp, CHA, new product, our family, home... YOU let me know... and we will try and get something fun up...

Leave a comment here with your blogging recommendations and I will have James pick the most creative (we will also do a random draw to keep it fair) that will win a fun Glimmery surprise from us. That is TWO chances to win. Leave your comment here before Sunday, August 15th, 2010 and we will announce a winner on Monday August 16th, 2010 (hopefully we will have internet, lol!).

Looking forward to hearing all of your creative blogging ideas!

A big THANK YOU Giveaway!!!!

Well, we are wrapping up our month long blog hop and have truly enjoyed the wonderful and amazing support all of you scrappers have shown us. Our challenge for our "Wear your Adhesives on the outside" blog hop for SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L was to have everyone participate in our techniques. But being that most of you probrably don't have the time or all of the supplies that we shared, we did not get a response to our challenge. SOOOOO what me and Nathalie Kalbach are BOTH doing is a GIVEAWAY of some awesomely fantastic products. All you have to do is.....

LEAVE A COMMENT RIGHT HERE ON THIS POST

And you will be entered into a random drawing for a GREAT prize including a ton of SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVE BY 3L products AND some of the favorites that were featured in our blog hop tutorials. You have until SUNDAY APRIL 11TH to post. A winner will randomly be picked and posted on Monday.
How simple is THAT???

Thank you all again for checking out and interacting with our blog hop. It was tons of fun. So much fun that I have decided to do it again this month with another "out of the box" crafter. I will be joining forces with Marion Smith from A Piece of Craft. We have a very similar approach to product and I hope that our wild and crazy ideas will spark some ideas of your own! We are still figuring out the details, so as soon as we figure a start date and such... I will let you all know!

Thanks again!

Wear your Adhesive on the Outside Part 5 RAK!

Ok so this is the last day of our blog hop and I am kinda sad. I have had so much fun with Nathalie Kalbach on our fun blog hop featuring SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L. Sigh.... I am going to miss our monday dates!

Today we are featuring two very specific products which are traditionally used for adhering paper. We are using the Vellum Tape Runner and the EZ Squares.

The vellum tape is not only a great adhesive to adhere vellum down seamlessly...it also makes a great resist agent when using Glimmer Mist!

Here is my project for the week... It is a 12x12 layout in which I used the vellum tape to create a free form heart with a grid pattern.

And here is my video demonstrating the resist technique and explaining the glittered tile technique.

I recommend going slowly as you adhere your Vellum EZ runner so that you can get a full coverage application. If you go a little faster, you will find that it will not all come off of the runner, which makes for a fun distressed look too!

Here I went over the Vellum Adhesive with a Black Glaze Pen by Sakura. I did polka-dots and outlined the outer heart ♥ look at how BEAUTIFULLY the Glimmer Mist SHINE!
And just for added texture...I added some pink thread and some sparkly turquoise thread stitching.
Now using the EZ Squares... I ran some out on my pink Misting Mat. I then applied a drop of Alcohol Ink on each square and blended it in with a paper towel that was previously misted.
After applying the the alcohol ink, I then went over each square with tidepool Glimmer Glam and some chunky matching glitter for texture.
After they dried, I simply used my finger (you could use tweezers) to pick them up and apply them to my title.
Here they are under my sweet vanilla ice title, lol.
And just for fun I added some rolled sparkly tulle flowers with some Pink Paislee stitched border.
And as a bonus, I went over the edge of my photo with the vellum tape and up into my photo simulating icicles. I then sprinkled a few small portions of glitter on the adhesive before I covered it with UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Powder). I also went over the icicles with a silver stardust pen and a clear glaze pen by Sakura.

So thanks so much for joining us this month as we shared our adventures in using your adhesive on the outside.

Sooooo..... as promised we have a little RAK to give away. We would love to see you join in on one of our techniques that we have shared this month. You have 10 different videos and techniques to choose from. If you could try one of these out on a project and then link back to our blogs or tag us in facebook we will enter you in a very special giveaway featuring some of the great products we have used and maybe a little something (or a lot of something♥) extra!

You have until next Sunday April 4th. The winner will be announced on Monday April 5th as we wrap up our fun adventures.

Thank you all for stopping by this month. I am hoping to do this more often with some of my scrapbooking friends who love to stretch their products just as I do.

If you want to take a peek at the other weeks we have done take a look here:

Week 1: Adhesive Sheets and EZ Dot Runner (re positionable)
Week 2: Craft and Photo Tape and Photo Corners
Week 3; EZ Runner (red) and Keepsake Pockets
Week 4: CD Pockets and 3D Foam Squares

And of course, we couldn't do this with out the support of SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L. Be sure to sign up for their newsletter here. They have an AMAZING new product coming out very soon... you won't want to miss it, so sign up to be the first to hear about it.

Thanks for your support!

Wear your Adhesive on the Outside Part 2

It's that time again! It is Monday and once again me and my dear friend Nathalie Kalbach are up to some crafty goodness! Although we have been sick (I KNOW, STILL!) here, I was able to get the assistance of my dear James to help me out with this video. Excuse the middle where it goes into song, for some reason this clip caught some static, so the music is actually a lot easier on the ears than the static that was there.

The SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L products that we are using this week are the Crafty Power Tape (although I called it Craft and Photo Tape, it has been re-named) and the photo corners. In the video I share a basket weaving technique, weaving the craft and photo tape into a nice little grid pattern. You can easily apply the adhesive to strips of paper if that would be easy enough for you to weave too!

Here are some up close pictures of the project:

Final Project: Sweetheart- Sawyer and Emma Culbertson (His little crush). I forgot to JOURNAL! LOL! I will add it in later :)

Here is the close up shot of the heart that I did the basket weave technique using Crafty Power Tape and Glitter. I then punched it with a Fiskars Punch (I believe it was the large scalloped heart)

This is the technique that Nathalie used last week where she used the Adhesive Sheets with Embossing powder. I laid the adhesive sheet on my black paper (Couture Cardstock) unevenly to give the black paper texture. I then laid my screen down and sprinkle UTEE over the top of the adhesive. I then removed my screen and heated the UTEE so it would crystallize. After it cooled down, I sprinkle red glitter into the adhesive that my screen protected to create this broken and solid image.

Ruffle made with misted paper towels and the Crafty Power Tape as seen in this video.

And here are a few ideas for using Photo Corners by SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L. I used the photo corners as texture to create the shingles on the house. I created a swirled pattern on the house.

And Here I cut out some wings and layered the photo corners on the wings to look like feathers. I also misted them with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist to give the a nice little glimmer.

Thanks for stopping by and REMEMBER to join in the fun and link back to our blogs of pics of your projects or email me at primadonnaliz@yahoo.com and I will enter you into a random drawing for a nice prize package. The more times you play along the more chances you have to WIN!

Thanks again and make sure to visit sweet Nat Kalbach to see what she did with her adhesives!

Thanks!!!

XOXO

Wear your Adhesive on the Outside

Ok, so here and there I have shared some fun things that you can do with products by SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L this month I am teaming up with my talented friend Nathalie Kalbach on a month long quest to share with you just how much fun you can have "Wearing your adhesive on the Outside". If you don't know Nat, YOU NEED TO! She is awesome and totally talented, I absolutely adore her and have had the privilege to work with her on a few different teams. Check out her blog here. So a week or so ago I found out that Nat was joining the SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L design team. We had already talked about doing a blog hop and decided to make March our month to share some of our favorite techniques using this fabulous adhesive.

Here is my video:

As well you can check out Nat's blog to check out her video too! We are each doing a video every Monday for the month of March. These videos will share with you some awesome uses for SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L products.

Here are a few images of the techniques that I share on the video:

Using the Adhesive Sheets with Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens (Timeless Romance)

Art Journal that uses the Adhesive Sheets to adhere Glitter to the back side of a Prima Flocked Transparency and then another Adhesive sheet is used to adhere the Glittered Flocked Transparency to a clear acrylic album.

The back side of the cover

Here I used the extra pieces of the Adhesive Sheet paired with silver foil to create a distressed foiled look on my cardboard.

This technique uses the E-Z Dots runner with Flock to create this cute polka dot looking stripe. Kind of like a faux ribbon applique.

So be sure to check us out each Monday as we share our favorite techniques with SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L products. Next week we will be using the craft and photo tape which I absolutely ADORE! It is going to be AWESOME! Thanks to all of you who have signed up for "The Shape to Come" site. If you haven't yet taken the time, you will want to! The new product that SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L is coming out with is AWESOME!

And as promised I have a winner for this last months giveaway. And the winner is...

Jamie the Smarty Pants said...

I signed up :) Hugs Girl

Birthday Giveaway!!!!

So today was my birthday and although I turned 31 ( you have to admit 31 is not one of those years that you expect to be big) you would have thought it was momentous occasion considering the day I had.

It started with the sweet chorus of my family singing Happy Birthday CHA CHA CHA to me. The more CHA's the better!

I was only suppose to work for three hours today, but as any job goes the hours were just not enough so James offered to take off early and pick up the kids so I could finish up. Although I didn't leave there till after 5:30, I was so blessed to have that time to catch up. What a great feeling knowing that monday I can start fresh and not feel the burden of lingering items.

The creme de la creme was my cupcake celebration!

Here are some shots of the sweet cupcake bash that Tattered Angels threw for me.

I had to run and grab my camera for this nice little shot.

Wendy took this pic of me blowing out the candle.

And of course digging into my cupcake.
Me and Michelle trading frostings, we had the most amazing cupcakes!
And the after math leftovers. We had chocolate with butter creme frosting, vanilla with chocolate fudge frosting and my favorite red velvet with cream cheese frosting!

After all of this I came home to a warm house with my kids screaming for me. It's doesn't get any better :)

So of course in honorary tradition... There must be a birthday giveaway!

I am thinking that I am going to dig into my Prima stash and find a nice little assortment of product to give ( I still have a TON of Winter CHA 2009 product that I have yet to open!) also some great adhesive from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L and also your choice of 3 bottles of Glimmer Mist.

So here is the deal:

Post a comment to this blog post about what you have liked about my blog and what you would like to see in my blogs future. I am swirling with ideas on directions to take my blog and would love to hear feedback from all of you. Also with 31 being one of those non descript years, I really want to make this year count and what better way than to do so with my friends along side with me!

I will then pick a winner on Monday randomly from all of those who post a remark to this thread. If you post more than once it is ok, I am looking for ideas so the more the merrier!

Thank you all for your continual support and friendship and here is to making 31 COUNT!

RAK- HOPE for Autism

This is my Hope for Autism...

I am very blessed to have a son that is on the Autism spectrum. And although he is considered to be on the spectrum, it is with a full and promised heart that I look at him and see potential. Sawyer is on the lighter side of Autism (he falls under the diagnosis of PDD-NOS) and as I look at him, I see future, promise, prosperity, hope. I can not look at my son and not wonder about his future, what he will endure, what he will face, but what I do know is that he is held in the hands of God, and I know that God never sets us up for failure and that through Christ, we can do ALL things. I love this boy, and he has shown me so much more about myself that I never thought I could handle, being Sawyers mommy has made me a fighter, and warrior, a conquerer and even more so an advocate, his advocate. This month being Autism Awareness month, I really want to share my blessings of being a mother of a child on the spectrum (believe me I am blessed, there are so many other parents of Autistic children, who NEVER hear I love you from their child) with you all, and I would really love it if you all could join in with me to offer hope to those who are effected by Autism.

This month (every Monday) I am offering a completly random RAK ( I will random.org one winner) of various scrapbook stash items to anyone who posts a reply to that mondays thread. When you post, I would love to hear a story of your own of how you are effected by Autism (just about everyone knows someone who is diagnosed with Autism), or if you would like you can add a link to an Autism site, or even give an Autism statistic. All the info is out there and all it takes is one moment of your time to google Autism, believe me it will be worth your minute of research 9your heart will thank you!). I will continue this every monday through April. my goal is to not only help all of my friends become more enlightened by info about Autism, but also to move in your hearts such a worthy cause.

I also have the winner to last weeks RAK for my first sketch over at Bad Girls Kits.

RAK... Economic Stimulus, LSS style!

I think it is about time to stimulate the local economy, and since it is the season for taxes... why not put your refund to a good use? (and if you are not getting a refund...well this may be a good way to drown your sorrow! So I am bringing back the "Support Your LSS" RAK. This was very popular last year, and I really like the idea of trying to keep our local scrap market afloat. So here are the rules:

  • Make a purchase at your LSS any time between now (March 24th- April 30th 2009) any amount, multiple reciepts will count for multiple entries.
  • Subscribe to my blog via the feedblitz link to the left of my blog page (this is crucial so that I can email you when you win!)
  • All purchases MUST be made at a brick and morter non chain store, sorry the idea is to stimulate the local LSS's and I really would like ALL purchases to be from this type of establishment. So no Michaels, Joanns, Archivers, Hobby lobby... and such
  • After enjoying making your purchase please email me a copy of your reciept @ primadonnaliz@yahoo.com
  • the reciept must be dated in between the dates mentioned
  • I will then randomly pick a winner (maybe a few depending on the outcome)
  • The prizes will be stuff from my Prima and Tattered Angels stash. So it will be some happy scrappy goodness.
  • I will post the winners On May 1st (or by the 3rd since I am teaching that weekend) and email you if you are a winner.
  • From there I will mail your prize within 2 weeks.

Sounds simple enough? I hope but if for some reason you have any questions feel free to ask, just email me!

Looking forward to helping stimulate the economy, one scrapper at a time!

Thanks!

Sorry Jason...we need a break

Although I love your music, it was time for a change... So no longer is Jason Mraz the first song on my play list, I know shock! Hope you all enjoy my new tunes. I added a few songs that keep popping in my head, so hopefully you enjoy them popping in your head too!

To celebrate my new tunes and well hopefully getting my self back on blogger track... I thought I would do a RAK of the new Prima floral printed burlap. This is a brand spankin' new item that just arrived in stock. So if you are interested, I will be giving away one of these randomly. Just post to this thread, and to make it interesting let me know what is your favorite song on my playlist. Maybe Jason can make a visit over on your blog now that we are through.

I will pick a winner next thursday to give the lazy bloggers (like myself) time.

I am so excited about the new Prima releases, and especially the new Tattered Angels stuff too, so many new yummy colors... I will try and post samples this weekend.

RAK updates... WINNERS!

Well this week has been rockin' with winners! Last week I did a seriously random draw ( I did a random.org draw from email addies) for a prize and it was So cal scraps Grace who won!!! Grace was so kind to call someone to let me into the crop a few weeks back too! It just goes to show that good things happen to good people!

This week over onthe Primadonna blog, another So Cal Scrap girls won!!! This week it was Kristi B!!!! She won a set of 3 stamps. This weeks topic is all on Bling, so they will be giving away Bling as well! Check it out here~

Also have you taken a browse at the new Tattered Angels website???

It is totally amazing and to top it off, they are featuring one of my favorite glimmer buds Joe from Strictly Scrapbooking this month!!! To catch up with Joe check out his site, and check out the Tattered Angels site under featured artist. Here is there amazingly generous giveaway this month.

That is a whole lot of Glimmer Mist!!! Also they have my tutorial for Glimmer Glaze as a print up under the tattered idea tablet, so check it out!

Phew! I am tired just typing this!!!

Alright, I am off to bed, check out the sites and let me know what you think!

XOXO
