Better late than never...
I can't believe it has been a month since I shared our move with everyone. Well as promised lots has happened in the past month. We are now in Colorado (yeah!!!!) and we are finally starting to settle into our house. Things have been going by so quickly which usually means that we are getting a lot done. We drove to Colorado via Nevada, Arizona (for like one minute) and Utah. My parents were gracious enough to travel with us which made it a lot easier. Oh and we took the cats too... totally not recommended...
Here are a few pics from the road, I know they don't even begin to describe the beautiful views that we experience.
Here is a BEAUTIFUL red barn, I think I might be a little obsessed with them because I am now scowering Colorado for an old red barn to take pictures at. This one just caught my eye, I love the way the lens caught the motion in the grass.
This little guy (and a few of his chipmunky friends) were out to play as we stopped at a rest stop/viewing stop in Utah (where I took the picture on the red rocks above) I had never seen a chipmunk before (besides, Alvin his brothers and Chip and Dale) So I was surprised as to how small they actually are. This was just a glimpse of the wildlife we saw on the road. The most rewarding sighting was all the deer we say, we saw 24 in total... ya don't see that in California that is for sure!
It was nice for the kids to see such beauties of nature!
During our mad rush to get to Colorado (we left California on Thursday the 28th and arrived on Saturday the 30th) we had just a few days to prepare the kids for school which had already started and they were joining on the 1st of September. We were fortunate enough to be able to stay with Wendy and Kyle (the owners of Tattered Angels) while our house was beng prepared for us.
We moved into our house on the first, although our stuff didn't move in till the 4th... that is a whole other story! Our moving truck was supposed to arrive on the 1st and didn't arrive till the 4th which means we had to mad scramble to buy the essentials and stuff for the kids for school. Needless to say it was tough, but going through that week was such a blessing our family as we ALL had to remain calm and work together to make things happen. I look at this picture of my kids which is the same pose we do every year and I laugh because it isn't even our doorstep, yet the kids are so excited for their new journey. So I won't bore you with the details of the journey here, at the end of the day the fact that we are here healthy, happy and willing is all that matters. We are still just as excited as when we left California and look forward to what lies ahead for our family.
With that being said, you would think I might stay home and rest for a bit, Nah!
Tattered Angels has been invited to participate in Scrapfest for Archivers. This is a fun, fun, fun event and I look forward to seeing some of my friends (and maybe even you to if you will be there!). Myself and Vicki Chrisman will be teaching classes as well as the rest of the staff will be demoing our product in The Mall of America Archivers as well as offering around the clock make and takes in our booth. If you are in the area, definately make it a point to stop by and say hi, I would love to meet you or see you again.
I will be home for a few weeks and then be of to California again to teach and demo at a few Scrapbook Expos. I will be teaching 6 classes at the Ontario show and then demoing at the Sacramento show. Check out their website for details or email me at liz@mytatteredangels.com
While I am in southern California, I am stopping by one of my favorite stores (Scrap N' Yap) to teach a few classes. The featured class is a Halloween Flip Album that is STUFFED with product and techniques. This is a class that you just can't "resist". There is so much fun wrapped up in this class, I just can't wait!
As a BONUS to all of those in attendance to the album class, I am offering a FREE class the hour before. All you need to do is purchase 2 bottles of Glimmer Mist at Scrap N' Yap and you will qualify. This class will use some of the extra product from the Album Class and Alter the box that the kit comes in. This box will act as a Ghoulish Treasure Chest, for all of your Halloween treats, or you can use it to store you album in too! It is a great little box for holding all of your Halloween candy in too!
And like the pictures says, BEWARE: CLASSES KNOWN TO CAUSE CREATIVITY...
I promise to get your creative juices flowing and have fun too!
Well this post is well worth a months worth of information. I guess I should stop for now. I am sorry that my CHA pics haven't made it up yet, I am hoping to get them up soon... well if I can find them! I also emailed Aimee for some pics of the Graphic 45 booth, I had ambitious endeavors to take pics of ALL of CHA, but really??? who can remember!
I hope this post finds you well and in high spirits, just remember it could always be better, yet it could also always be worse!
XOXO
Liz
