- In total, we had 1 week to get this studio together, since we had just moved into our new home here in Colorado.
- ALL of our furniture fixtures are reclaimed elements found from thrift stores or recycling yards.
- The table tops and vanity counter in the back (black top) are vintage doors that we took a saw and custom cut to fit. We then paid for custom but and beveled glass to cover the top and make it workable and heat resistant.
- The back counter is made up of two recycled (and thoroughly disinfected, lol) bathroom vanities.
- We spent less than $700
- We have AMAZING friends who with out their help... none of this work would have been possible.
This shot here shows you how we used some old reclaimed cabinet doors as shelves. The top one is a reclaimed stud from the foundation of a house, but the rest are old kitchen cabinet doors that are turned flat side up and anchored with L brackets.
Here is a close up of the vanity counter top that is a combo of two different vintage doors, painted black and cut to size to create this epic counter top. This I think is one of my favorites ♥
Sadly...my room doesn't look nearly as nice as it did in these original shots any more... but hey, that's crafting for you!

Make sure to check out The Creative Spaces Sneak Peek too!
It has been a nice break for the holidays, one I didn't intend on taking, but I guess I had too :) Life called... I am heading to CHA on Sunday to teach for Clearsnap Inc and catch up with some of my crafty buds... I am sure that you will be seeing a ton of fun stuff for sure on my Instagram and Facebook :) I will try and blog while I am there... but from past experiences... I know I can't promise!
Thanks for visiting today!
~Liz Hicks ♥
I can't believe you did all of that in a week! Crazy! You do have a great space and I'm sure the current version is just as fabulous with it's creative clutter!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Awesome! Would love to win this copy, still searching for the best ways to organize all my goodies! Have fun at CHA. I am so Jealous! If I only had someone to watch my doggies.
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of each of these spaces. Love how you were able to pull yours together! I can only dream to have a space like this!
ReplyDeleteI would so love to redo my creative space with some of these ideas. It is exciting to see the different spaces and how they are created. Thanks so much for letting us into your cubby holes!
ReplyDeleteI love how you reused a lot of items in ways most of us wouldn't imagine.
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely into repurposing, and have found things at the secondhand shop that were left for not, purchased them and put them back to good use. Having said that, I haven't done that much at all with my craft room. What an awesome idea....and a good reminder that I can reuse things and put them into use again. Guess what my goal is for what's left of this week. A good once over of my house tied in to the craft room. I would LOVE to win this magazine to see what other ideas I could put into practice. Sharon
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win - and for the peek at your (tidy!) scrapping space.
ReplyDeleteThe pages from my 1st edition are so worn because I constantly referred back to so many things; especially organizational tools and tips! I would LOVE to have a copy of the 2nd edition! I can only imagine the beautiful spaces that are inside...Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteThese Magazines are so well put together. I think I started doing what I do because I saw it in a magazine, I also started with a 'large hat box'. Thinking it would hold all the supplies I would need....Now I too am lucky enough to have a 'dedicated room'. Keep smiling and creating Ms Liz, have fun at CHA.
ReplyDeleteI just watched Megan on My Craft Channel today, where she talked about the 2nd issue of CS. I got so excited about it! So wish I had bought the first one. Will definitely be buying the second one if I don't win it!!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool crafting space!

I will be praying for your friend Cheryl and reminding myself how we need to cherish every day that we have. I also love your craft space and would love the chance to win a copy of the new issue of Creative Spaces.

ReplyDeleteGreat timing! I'm in the middle of moving into a new studio space. My son moved out - I'm sad and we miss him, but the three of his sisters that are still at home and I are SO excited to have a dedicated crafting space to move into!! I'd LOVE to get some ideas from this issue! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win. I would love to have a copy :)
ReplyDeleteYour studio is great! I am inspired after seeing the mess I made before leaving for CHA :-( Thanks for sharing Liz!
ReplyDeleteEileen, sadly this space is in a huge disarray and used mostly for storage. We moved my studio into our office area because it was larger for the kids to come and play with me in.
DeleteLove your cool crafting space!
