Should I, or should't I?

I have debated on whether or not to read this series. My friends and Family have recommended it, and with the movie out, it seems like something that I would enjoy. After my very dissapointing read of "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" (of course I found out that it was a YA book AFTER I checked it out!) I could really use a good read. Alhough this to is a YA book, it is a good size, so it does seem hopeful.
What would you do?
Read it?
Or leave it alone?
I would love to hear from those of you who have anything to say onthe subject!

  1. i just bought the set from costco really good price. I will let you know how I feel when I am done. I only bought it because of all the hype about before it was released and I have not seen the movie either.

  2. Don't Do IT!!!! Step away from the poorly written trend lit and go find a good book. Find something that makes you happy you stepped into that world for a few hours. Just don't read Twilight. Please! I beg of you, don't fall to the masses! LOL!

  3. I have read the first one. I guess I was expecting more though because of all the hype. Maybe it was because it is YA but I don't see what the big deal is. It was an ok book, but I wouldn't rave about it. I will read the rest of the series to see what happens but I'm not rushing out to buy the books. I will wait for them to be available at the library. I'll probably see the movie eventually but I have low expectations for that from the reviews.

  4. It is sitting on my desk now. I haven't decided on it either! My son picked it up because all of his students were reading it and he wanted to see what it was about. He teaches English at a small private school. Basically a not so great written romance novel. Couldn't understand what the hoopla is all about!

  5. My Daughter has the series and she loves it. she keeps telling me to read it, but I haven't. I sometimes enjoy YA books! LOL... :)

  6. This is series is so good. Her writing has you wanting more. It was very hard to put down. It is a love story - mostly. THe fourth book is my absolute favorite. The movie was not so good if you have read the book. My husband sis nto read the book and enjoyed the movie. You just need to read these books if you like a love story with a twist.

  7. See... now I liked the series. I could not put it down... read all 4 books in a week. Yup! Probably makes me a total dork but it was a good, easy read. Not your typical vampire story. No... it`s not the well written novel type that you will see winning major awards, but every now and then you just need something that doesn`t take too much thought that you can still enjoy. I liked it and hope you do too!!!
