Little things... (and a George update)

So some of you may have seen this last night on Facebook, but I just had to post it to my blog as I am so proud. This here is my little guys signature... his FIRST signature. I am so excited to see my son burst through triumphantly. We have had our highs and lows and seeing him break the through boundries just warms my heart.
It's things like this that remind me of why I started this blog in the first place. I blog so I don't forget, so that when I scrap I can look back and remember the little things that the kids do. I have adapted my work so that I can actually create pages for my albums rather than just class samples. But still it is so hard.
I take a step back, out of scrapland and look at what life is now and think WOW...
It is so easy to get wrapped up in what is expected of you and what you know you are capable of that your determination can easily take over and before you know it you look at life and you can't even recognize it. That is what happened to me this last month as I was sick and had time to re-evaluate my current situation. I was so behind on rest time that my body just shut down.
I don't ever want to be like that again, well at least not at my own hand. This weekend was a great family weekend and I want more of those. I want to relax with my family and simply enjoy them! My motto for our family has always been to work to live not live to work, so I am holding this to ALL Hicks in our household (now that just sounds down right funny, eh?).
I hope that you can see me being honest as a reminder to stick to your guns. Remember your reason for scrapbooking and get right back to it. There is a time and a place for all things, and it is managing them appropriately that is the real beauty. Now I know I may not always remember this, but I can still count on my moments like these to remind me.
Ok, that was a rather long tangent! On another note, the winners are posted over at the Tattered Angels blog . Check and see if you were a winner! We have also posted another giveaway, so definately check it out!
And on to our friend George, James is going to help me out and get these mailed to everyone, so make sure I have your address primadonnnaliz@yahoo.com that way we can get the ball rolling on these.
Thanks again for sharing my joy!

The Winter release is 6 brand new colors, (pictured below) and even include the brand new Marshmallow WHITE Glimmer mist!!! Check out the Tattered Angels blog for details.
Same great Glimmer, Fabulous new look!!!
NEW WINTER 2009 COLORS!!! INCLUDING WHITE GLIMMER MIST!!!!
These colors off a warm, bold look that is perfect for any occasion or season! (sorry for the quick pictures, the light kinda drowns out the color a bit!)

Marshmallow, Peppermint Stick, Frozen Lake
Arctic Blue, Pashmina and Candlestick

Introducing, Marshmallow Glimmer Mist

This beautiful water and dye based color will give you an absolutely STUNNING Glimmer, with a soft white base. This is a light white color, so to create the effect that I have here you will need to apply multiple layers, this is nice as it will help you get just the right coverage that you need and versatility as to how pronounced of a white you would like.

Along with tthis color the rest of the Winter 2009 limited edition line will be:

Pashmina- A Fuschia with a golden pink glimmer

Artic Blue- Navy Blue with a smokey glimmer

Candlelight- a golden rod with a soft pearly taupe glimmer

Frozen Lake- A vivid Turquoise Blue with a soft pearly turquoise glimmer

Peppermint Stick- a bold red with a pearly pink glimmer.
Thanks for peeking and I hope one of you wins one of these fabulous prizes, be prepared... there are alot more prizes to be given at the Tattered Angels site!

Georgia, on my mind...

I am preparing for some upcoming Tattered Angels classes at the Scrapbook Expo in Daluth, Georgia. I am excited to get to see Atlanta. I have never been to Georgia, so this will be so much fun! Joining me on the trip will be the ever talented Lauren Ferguson who will be working her magic in the booth. If you get a chance to come by, please stop by and say hi! I will be in classes most of the time, but would love it if you could come by and say hi, I believe we are in room 3. Here are the projects that we will be offering this Expo.

Royal layout

This layout is perfect for a girl OR a boy, although here it geared towards a girl, the colors can accomidate boys too! This class will review the basics of Glimmer Mist and help guide through some commonly asked questions.

Explore the Outdoors Layout

This layout is a similar class to the top layout but with different colors and different patterned paper. This layout is quick and simple, yet this class is full of the basics of Glimmer Mist.

Friends Album

ok, I have to admit... this is my FAVORITE kit! When I first recieved this kit, I just about died and went to heaven! the colors and embellishments, not to mention the CARDBOARD! It all won me over! This class will be also go through the intro to Glimmer Mist, yet expand and give you a few more tips and techniques that will show you the vast uses for Glimmer Mist.

Garden Journal

This album is absolutely stunning! This delicate album has pockets, and gates and it's embossed cover is just to die for! I added in some little Prima rosettes to the cover. I thought it would be nice to make the rosettes look like they are winding through the iron gate.

These classes are sure to be fun. If you are thinking about taking one, you may want to think quick as the classes are filling up fast. I would love to meet you if you are in the area!

thanks for peeking!

So it is that time again, the first of the month and of course Bad Girls brings you the very finest in vintage creativity! This months kits are amazing as usual. Here is the main kit as well as one that just happen to match my CHA retailers class, Vagabound.

Here are a few pics from my CHA class for retailers. This class is just happens to be using the Tattered Travelr album from Tattered Angels and the new Transatlantique line from Graphic 45. This class will be made available for retailers, so ask your local stores if they will be attending CHA. This class is full of techniques that compliment both Tattered Angels and Graphic 45.

This was such fun product to work with. As usual the kits are SOLD OUT. There are a few left of one of the BAD GIRLS KITS, but like always they have sold out quickly. email Wendy at info@badgirlskits.com for info on subscriptions or being put onthe wait list.
And as always you can find some killer classes, AND tons of inspiration on the Bad Girls site.
