This weekends events!

So this post is going to be a bit lengthy, but I wouldn't want you all to miss out on a totally awesome National Scrapbook Day!

I have compiled a list of what I know will be going on this weekend for National Scrapbook Day. First things first... I will be in two places at one... literally! I will be doing a video tutorial/class on the Bad Girls Kit site. Check it out if you are going to be spending your weekend at home. I also will be providing some giveaways for those who participate. The DT girls have been working VERY hard over there, so stop on by and say hi, they will make you feel right at home!
I will also be teaching two classes at the San Diego Scrapbook Expo on Friday night. If you are around come by the booth I will be demoing friday and saturday. Here are the classes. The first is an aquaboard using glimmer mist, screens and ribbon.

The second is a triptic Beach party bingo display. This will be using the Brand new Bingo and Calling card set from Tattered Angels. I am really excited about these cards, they are made with a heavy duty cardstock and are absolutely adorable. The are also a great value too!

Pre registration has closed, but if you are in for taking one of the classes, you can sign up at the door.

If you are looking for a local place to romp for NSD, here are a list of my favorite stores in the LA, OC and SD area. All stores are doing some amazing things to celebrate!

Los Angeles County:
Strictly Scrapbooking
Scrap N' Yap
Creative Paradise
Chino Scrapbook Company (Actually I think they may be riverside co.?)

Orange County
Scrapbooking Heaven
Oh Scrap!

San Diego County:
Scrappin Attack
Everafter Scrapbooks
Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks
Yellowbird Scrapbooks
Cool Scrapbook Stuff

Make sure to check out your LSS this weekend, they are working sooooo hard to give you the latest and greatest, so stop on by and show them some love.

Speaking of which, I recieve a little tidbit of info that I think some of you might be interested in. Chino Scrapbook Company Just got in tons new Prima, and the Flirty Little Secret line!!! They also have some of the new yummy stitched Prima paper. So check it out and let me know what you think!

Here is a page I made using the March Bad Girls Kit, featuring Prima's Flirty Little Secret collection. I absolutely ADORE this paper!

Ok, so I warned this one would be a biggie post. I will be gone most of the week, so this will most likely be it for the month. Just a reminder to post a comment to the Autism Awareness RAK thread here, also I am still hosting the Support your LSS RAK, just make a purchase at a local scrapbook store (non chain, so no michaels, joanns or stores of that nature) and email it to me by april 3oth. The reciept needs to be dated with in the dates specified (if you look back a few posts you will see the exact dates) but if you bought something in April you should be good. I will be doing the same thing again in May, so send me your NSD reciepts, the more reciepts the merrier, the more chances to win. I will announce that RAK next week though. And just remember, ANY purchase is appreciated by your LSS, just a little hello to show your support! Your reciept can be any amount, just show your store some love!

Any way... I will leave you all with a little sneak of next months bad girls kit. It is wonderfullly beautiful in an oh so vintage way. You might recognize a little 7 gypsies? Well I can't tell you everything...but I can tell you that you will LOVE it!

Bad Girls Kits May Sneaky Peek!

Thanks again for your support!

have a great weekend of scrapping, and relaxing!

Tattered Angels and Prima Blog Relay- RAK

It's time again for another Tattered Angels and Prima Blog relay! This time... it is my turn (for real this time!). For this weeks project I created a Love Story Journal for my Grandmother. My Grandfather passed away a few years back, and I often realize just how much I miss him. I can only imagine what my grandmother feels, so I created this journal for her to use to record any little moments that she may not want to forget. This is also a great way for my children to know a little more about them. For this journal I used the Tattered Traveler album. I used Creme de Chocolate, Creme de rouge, Wheatfields, Bronze, coffee shop, and Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist. For this pic you can see that I cut down the acetate that traditionally sits on top of the album. I really wanted to keep the back the beautifully misted chipboard, so I used the acetate as an accent. I also used the Creme De Rouge ephemera regal glimmer chips for the frame. The Prima embellisments totally give this album a beautifully elegant vintage feel.

Here are some close ups of the regal frame that I used, I layered it with stickles and then mist over it with wheatfields and Creme de rouge glimmer mist.

This is one of my favorite parts of the album. Since this album is using a vintage picture of my grandparents on their wedding day, I used two of the Tattered Angels pocket watch framed font alphabet chips and cut off the top of the pocket watch to create two rings. I misted with wheatfields and accentuated the embossing with Creme de Chocolate. I layered Prima Galaxy stars misted with Creme De rouge, prima rose buds and prima petite fleurs.

This is a close up of the title, I layered some of Primas new vintage print flowers and centered them with a regal FDL chip. I really like the idea of using hte flowers as a bed for embellishing rather than always centering them with traditional centers. I also cut out some of Prima's stitched paper and ruffled the edges with glimmer mist.
here are the other ladies who are joining in on this weeks blog relay.

Tattered Angels Prima Blog Relay!!!

So today is MY turn to share some fun stuff with you! This page is of my DD, and her obsession with all things fairytale. I will add the journaling later, bt for now I thought it would be fun to sahre a few pics and tips with you. This page is a paintable turned around so that I use the back side to mist on. I used a small flourish screen and a variety of reds and pinks to create the back ground paper. I used some of Prima's stitched mulberry paper misted with old lace to frame my creation. I love all of the layers on this project and I seriously misted EVERYTHING, even the Glimmer Glass Chips. Since the pics of my DD are of her running away in her princess dress, I though it would be appropriate to make this page, cinderellaesque and create a woodland thicket around her.

In this pic we have Tattered Angels brand new framed font alpha chips, I used teh positive and the negative letters to create the "fairy"title. I misted them and then gently pushed them embossed side down into the excess mist to gather onthe raised portions of the embossing. I thought it was totally cute to use the pocket watch set, that has a cute clock face on them. The flocked letters are Prima Whisper words letters in Ivory, misted with Twilight glimmer mist.

In this pic I used the tops of the Pocket watches to create a flower. I cut off the tops and arranged them to look like a flower. I then layered some Prima flowers on top for depth.

This pic is one of my favorites! I layered Tattered Angels Creme de Rouge Ephemera Regal chips, with Glimmer Glass, and Prima bling to add tons of layers of swirly goodness! I also used some extra Say it in Crystals, cut up on the crown.
So tomorrow I will go ahead and choose a winner for this past weeks AA RAK. I am still recouping from Colorado, I can't wait to share my experiences with all of you, it was sureal to say the least!
***Ok, so come to find out, NEXT week is my week to blog relay! LOL! So I will come up with some other goody for next week! Here are the girls blogs for this week, enjoy!

Bad Girls project- Sweet Profile

This layout was created with the Bad Girls April Kit. A quick tip to maximize your lettering is to use it as a mask and paint over to create the illusion of the title, adding glimmer mist also helps you customize the color to your liking, and if you are an over acheiver (which my hands are still mad at me for) you can hand stich around your title to get the totally outlined effect. The big butterfly is a cut out of a hambly and used as a mask.
Hope this helps keep your creative gears in motion!

The Good... The Bad.... And the STICKY!

So let me break it down like this!

THE GOOD...

Well some of you may have heard it on my Facebook post, but yesterday my sweet son ate grilled chicken for the first time, it may not sound like much, but to a mom of a 5 year old boy who only eats chicken nuggets, fruit and PB&J's this was VICTORY! He has issues with harder textures so this was a definate win for our family!

SO now the Bad.... and oh is it BAD!

Here is one of my Layouts for Bad Girls, I have added a slide show of my DT work at the bottom of my blog, but by posting these individual posts, it helps for those who want to be able to see detailed pics. Here is the layout called Curious Boy. I hand stitched the rain drops, added paint, stickles and of course cardboard, and VOILA... one of my most favorite layouts to date! I based this page off of a sketch that Kara did over at Bad Girls. Check them out if yo uget a chance, this months kit is Totally spring and Sooooo much fun!

You may have noticed that I added another design team to my list, I was asked a few months back by Kerri over at SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L if I would be interested in joining their DT, and well since I already use their goodies anyways, I said OF COURSE! I am seriously pinching myself with the wonderful companies I am so very blessed to work with!

SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L is my absolute favoritist (and yes this IS a word, I have been using it since the second grade!) in the whole wide world!!! They rock with the versatility of adhesives that they offer. Take a look at their site when you get a chance, they also have an online shop now that you can purchase from and all sales are directed to retailers, so the sales are not taken away from the retail market. My goal with SA is to show how you can use their adhesives as art mediums rather than just sticky stuff you use to scrap with. I am on a quest to show EVERYONE how to wear their adhesive on the outside! Believe me, you'll love it!

So if you didn't guess... that was the sticky... although it could qualify as the good too!

thanks for peeking in today!

RAK- HOPE for Autism

This is my Hope for Autism...

I am very blessed to have a son that is on the Autism spectrum. And although he is considered to be on the spectrum, it is with a full and promised heart that I look at him and see potential. Sawyer is on the lighter side of Autism (he falls under the diagnosis of PDD-NOS) and as I look at him, I see future, promise, prosperity, hope. I can not look at my son and not wonder about his future, what he will endure, what he will face, but what I do know is that he is held in the hands of God, and I know that God never sets us up for failure and that through Christ, we can do ALL things. I love this boy, and he has shown me so much more about myself that I never thought I could handle, being Sawyers mommy has made me a fighter, and warrior, a conquerer and even more so an advocate, his advocate. This month being Autism Awareness month, I really want to share my blessings of being a mother of a child on the spectrum (believe me I am blessed, there are so many other parents of Autistic children, who NEVER hear I love you from their child) with you all, and I would really love it if you all could join in with me to offer hope to those who are effected by Autism.

This month (every Monday) I am offering a completly random RAK ( I will random.org one winner) of various scrapbook stash items to anyone who posts a reply to that mondays thread. When you post, I would love to hear a story of your own of how you are effected by Autism (just about everyone knows someone who is diagnosed with Autism), or if you would like you can add a link to an Autism site, or even give an Autism statistic. All the info is out there and all it takes is one moment of your time to google Autism, believe me it will be worth your minute of research 9your heart will thank you!). I will continue this every monday through April. my goal is to not only help all of my friends become more enlightened by info about Autism, but also to move in your hearts such a worthy cause.

I also have the winner to last weeks RAK for my first sketch over at Bad Girls Kits.

Thank you all for being my soundboard in life. I originally started this blog on a whim to record my families up and downs, and well many a time, I have found typing about Sawyer on here therapeutic.
thanks again!
