What a Weekend!!!

I just want to thank all of the fun people I met this weekend at the Urban-Anthology Cyber Crop for the Cure. We completed a great LO and had fun with tons of product and techniques. If you have a chance, check it out on their site, the tutorials I did are still up and can be found here:

Post 1: Photo editing, creating a warm autumn glow and leveling out your pictures
Post 2: Prima Hybrid, introducing the easiest form of hybrid (that I have seen) that will give your pages an added depth and pizzaz.
Post 3: Creating a custom background page using plain carstock, glimmer mist, acrylic paints, distress ink pads and stickles.
Post 4: Hand made Embellies: video 1-creating a harlequin pattern out of cardboard and Prima Paintables. video 2-Altering your cardboard to give it a "Girly Grunge" look.
Post 5: finalizing the layout and glimmer misting flowers the Final project is shown as well as explained.

So in total there are 6 tutorial videos one in each post with the exception of post 4 that has two.

Let me know what you think, I had tons of fun and again a big THANK YOU to the peeps over at Urban Anthology, Kari, Ching and the gang.... I had a blast!

Urban Anthology Cyber Crop

Hey everyone!!!

*****NOW IN PROGRESS, COME JOIN THE FUN!!!*******

As I mentioned before, I am the guest designer over at Urban Anthology and will be hosting a start to finish project entitled "Courage". I chose this title for their Scrap Pink Cyber Crop that they will be hosting this weekend starting Friday the 17th and going on through Sunday the 19th. I will be hosting an online chat from 8-10 PST in my jammies. I am doing two giveaways of loose product to embellish your start to finish project. In order to be entered, just participate in the online crop and post as we go through out the weekend on any of my posts. I will randomly choose two winners from all of the posters and mail out two goodie bags of stuff. So the more you post, the better your chances are to win!

This is a great start to finish using photo editing, Prima hybrid, creating your own back ground, hand made embellies, and adding regular embellies.

You are sure to brush up on some things you may already know or learn a thing or two, regardless we are all there to support a worthy cause, Breast Cancer Awareness and scrap a little too!

PS, excuse my shakey videos, I had James help me with the Hybrid one, and well he did a great job considering my demands! As Becky would say, he's a good scaddy.

Hope to see you there!!!

~Liz

Glimmer mist shipped!

Just a little FYI that the winners of the Glimmer Mist Giveaway should be expecting their misty friends soon. I had a really hard time finding containers that would hold the mist upright and that were small enough to ship. I wanted to make sure that the mist didn't get thrown around in shipment so I had to find just the right box for them (this will help prevent any clogged sprayers). I think you all will like the boxes I shipped them in. They are cute and stylish.

Please remember that we have a few other giveaways posted here. The support your LSS Giveaway, the Primadonna Scrapbook Adhesives giveaway and the Tattered Angels Giveaway.

So take advantage!

XOXO

Pics and editing stuff

From this:
To this:

This was a fun little phot to edit, but it put up a good fight. First off there was caution tape on the left side and the kids were kicking up dust adn the light was catching it causing my pic to be overexposed. The trick to this pic was to add a golden photo filter at the end of editing. Once I got the pic to look decent, I reduced the saturation, and played with the contrast. added a filter or two, and lastly burned the edges. I love it and it totally speaks fall to me.

The winners from my Scrappin' Escapes event

I am such a bum for not posting these earlier :( My weeks seem to get busier and busier and that is good! Here are a few pics from my Scrappin Escapes classes that were so much fun. I made new friends and hung out with some old ones two. Also I got to meet the ladies of the So Cal Scrap MB, I just love them!

Here they are hard at work, painting away their "heaven sent" layouts.

Last scrapper standing

And here is Karen, working hard after all have left her. This was the Album class and ALL the girls did AWESOME on this one, they all had such a different take on it and they made unique masterpieces.

So you can see we had a blast!!! I look forward to seeing them all again real soon!!!

Natalie Kalbach- It's a wonderful world

Hey everyone! I just thought I would share with you a great workshop coming up online. It is being taught by my German friend and fellow Primadonna, Nat over at the Scrap-tastic site. Nat is an AMAZING artist and is very clever when it comes to techniques. She never ceases to amaze me not only with her scrappy talent but with her friendship.

Here is the workshop bio:

In this “What A Wonderful World” workshop you will create a wonderful acrylic album with lots of Prima goodies, paint and markers. You will learn how to overcome the difficulties of working with an acrylic album and take advantage of the acrylic to create a lot of playful depth. You will get access to a private blog site with complete instructions, tutorials, videos and photos. This way you can work at your own pace… no rushing to keep up or, for you over-achievers, no one to slow you down This workshop will be available from November 10th, 2008 thru January 10th, 2009.

For an even better visual and verbal description of the workshop, check out this super cool video she made.

Welcome to October!

So past month was a bit of a crazy ride for our family. From beginning to end, let's just say I am glad it is done.

This past month on the blog I hosted a random giveaway of 5 (1 oz.) bottles of glimmer mist to all subscribers.

Well last night was the final night and I am so excited to hear back from the winners. When I receive their names, I will post them here. It was so fun doing this that I am thinking that I am going to have to do more things just like this!

So this months RAK is...

Support your LSS (local scrap store)
This is some is something that weighs on my heart. I found my love for scrapping through the aisles of my local scrap store. Between there and the CKMB I was constantly finding new things to incorporate on my pages. With so many stores going out of business, it breaks my heart to think that the people that took a chance in living their dream are being dramatically affected by the economy crisis. We have had a few stores close in our area, including the store that I was first given an opportunity to design for. With all the over head, school starting, and the holidays looming, I bet most of you haven't even considered scrapping and I am sure that includes anything else nice for yourself. So since this does directly effect each of us, I figured what a better way to give the scrap economy a little boost?
Here are the guidelines for entry:
1) Subscribe to my blog. Totally simple, and non intrusive. I just send updates about my blog, classes, giveaways from me and the companies I teach for, tips and techniques and just a whole lot of FUN! I won't fill your email box with junk mail and you can email me at any time if you would rather not participate. primadonnaliz@yahoo.com
2) get yourself down to your LSS and escape from the world for a bit.
3) make a purchase of ANY amount. Your LSS will be grateful for ANY purchase, guaranteed!!!
4) email me a pic of your receipt dated 10/1/08- 10/31/08
5) just have fun!!!
The idea of this of course is to give a little boost to the scrap economy, but more than this to really encourage all scrappers to remember themselves in this busy season in life. Whether you scrap everyday or haven't in years, keeping a good balanced recreation is essential to life. YOU need to give yourself a break from the hustle and bustle before it is to late and and stress creeps in. I know I have been there and am sure I am not the only one. So what better way then to get away to a scrap store. I had a group of friends that I went to coffee and a scrap store with every Wednesday, and it was a great boost to my week.
So grab a friend (or not) a cup of coffee and take a good walk through your LSS. Take a break from life, and just reconnect with your inner scrap artist. If you take a pic, please email it to me I would love to see it!
This RAK will end October 31st and I will post a winner on November 1st. I will randomly pick a winner from the list of subscribers who email me pics. This is open to everyone, including our international buddies so tell your friends!!!
If you have any questions feel free to email me!
thanks and happy shopping, browsing, and crafting!!!
XOXO

~Liz
