Thank you~

To all of our wonderful parents who helped us raise money for Aaron. In total We raised $123.20!!! I am so grateful to be a part of this and my heart is filled with joy to think that parents and their 4 year old children would help us this way!!! It looks like Aaron is gettting close to his target, and we want to help with all that we can!

We had a blast celebrating the boys birthdays this year and seeing the growth in character in both of them. We have decided to extend our charity work beyond birthdays and go forth with the art show. It will be here at our house on may 31st. this will be our first attempt at something like this, so pray for us!

The kids loved coming over to celebrate with Sawyer. We made pizza faces to eat and had toadstool cupcakes in honor of Super Mario Bros. This was a great weekend, we couldn't have ask for a better one!

Sawyers Birthday~

Today We celebrated with Sawyers Pre-school, his forth birthday. Saturday is his birthday and although it would have been the PERFECT day for a birthday fiesta, we decided to keep things simple this year. Tommorrow his friends will arrive for a play date and make your own pizza party. We have asked in exchange for presents that his friends bring a small donation to help Aaron with his watchdog. We really wanted to express to our chinldren the importance of giving rather than recieving. Me and James bought both boys the presents we knew they wanted and so they still had soem goodies to open on their day. With openign our childrens eyes and hearts at an early age we hope to give them hearts focused on service. This world has become such a consumption society and we feel that this a great way to get the kids togehter for something special. My older son Jackson, chose the luekemia and lymphoma society for his charity. after doing pennies for patients at school he wanted to know more about Luekemia so together as a family we read Sadako and the thousand paper cranes to let him better understand the impact of luekemia. April is so pecial to us. Not only does Easter usually fall in April but both boys were born in April and it is autism awareness month. Our hearts are always full during this time of year. This is the perfect way to spread some love and gratitude.

Hopefully if things pan out right, we can reach the kids goals. We are also going to host a kids art show here at the house to help raise a bit more money and awareness.

thanks for peeking!

Congrats Tiffany Tillman!

One of my favorite scrappers Tiffany Tillman, was one of the winners of the Little Dreamer Designs Apprenticeship! She is now on their creative team. She is such an inspiration that you can be a mom and scrap on the side! She is amongst the best on Little Dreamer and I wish her the very best!
Here are her kits that are available in the shoppe. Check out sunlights delight, so cute!!!
Also Nancy Kubo was just added to the bunch a few weeks ago, she does some amazing design work for Primahybrid and is also the designer of their paper line Urban Cosmo. So congrats Nancy!

Well last night I was feeling a bit crummy. I have a head cold and was just not feeling well. We were scheduled to go to an Angel's game, but there was no way I was able to hang. So James beiing the super dad that he is went on his own with all three kids. Given that I had not had a moment to think without the three kids around, I took that opportunity to digi/hybrid scrap a bit. This LO will be a hybrid once I print and embellie it. And did you know that Costco now has a 12x12 print called scrapbook page? Apparently they finally got the memo, unfortunatley they kept the price of the 12x24, so you only get one for the price of 2 now but it is still convenient.

I am absolutely in LOVE with photo editing right now!!! I have been scoping out Jessica Spragues Photoshop Friday archives and jsut googling different effects. I signed up for a PS CS3 course and have been trying to read throught the pages of that too! So needless to say, I am loving my photshop!!! Seriously, LOVING it!!!

I did this LO in PSE4, I was to chicken to try it in CS3. I used Jessica Spragues pink lemonade kit, some flowers I found on a blog by Melaney Violette. The crown is a Silhouette from prima Hybrid by IOD. Once I print the LO, then I will be able to add the rhinestones that coordinate. The brushes are hand doodles. Fonts are from the internet fling and and sweetheart home I believe.

Well I have been busily paper scrapping too! I have been practicing some new stuff for my classes. I am still waiting for some new stuff to come in but new projects are sure to come soon!!!

The Adventures of Liz Hicks- team MOM

This month has brought TONS of surprises. First we started the month by celebrating the birth of our sweet boy. He had a few friends over after school and together they enjoyed Mario cake (the cheapest cutes cake, Costco cake with pics I printed from the web and laminated). Nothing to eventful except that the day before we welcomed into our home our friends the Riners. needless to say we had an exciting week with our friends impromptu visit! That weekend we enjoyed watching James sweet cousin walk down the aisle and become Mrs. Brett Rinks. I was able to make their programs for them, something I thoroughly enjoyed!

And of course there are the baseball games. This year is Jackson's first year playing. He is the catcher and is very proud of it. The boys are great, I love watching all of their little personalities reflect on to each other. Although I often tend to forget Jackson's age, being around these boys I am reminded that he is only 6 years old. I couldn't ask for a better bunch of kids. From snack bar to singing chants, I love every minute of it.

I haven't and much time to think about my scrapping, well I now have to start making time. I have a few meetings set up with in he next few weeks and I need to get projects up and going!!! I have a few in mind, I can't wait to share them with you all!!!

Happy Autism Awareness Month!!!

I love this time of year. To think that someone thought enough to make April Autism awareness month. I love it!!! As some of you may know, (I don't keep it a secret! LOL!) our sweet son Sawyer was treated for Autism when he was two. For ten months all we knew was 2 hours a day ABA therapy. I know that it was only 2 hours but it took everything out of us. Today, I am a changed women because of what we endured those 10 months. My outlook on life has appreciated. I cannot express enough gratitude to those who came into our lives through this experience. I am forever reminded of them each time I look into Sawyer's eyes and remember the vacancy that use to occupy them. Because of them, my son can tell me he loves me, hug me and kiss me. A mother can never describe how much that is worth!!! Although Sawyer was initially diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Delay with the help of early intervetion, he now is a full functioning 3 1/2 year old. We still have difficulties with speech and emotions but he is AMAZING!!! So thank you, to whoever it was that dedicated this month to families like us, who are just looking for normalcy.

It's official~

Today, Prima launched their new education program on their website. And I am on it!!! I am absolutely thrilled to be working with such a company as Prima. They have been AMAZING to me! Although I organize and create all of my classes, they have really opened my eyes to the many facets of teaching. I can do as little or as much as I like, and that is perfect for me! At CHA they had a flyer with the names of their Primadonnas and their contact info on it. It was surreal.

Thanks for joining in with my moment!
